If you are interested in joining an inclusive, supportive and fun club please get in touch.

You may already be a qualified coach, it may be that you're a parent/relative of a player and are looking to take the next step or you are new to coaching and would like to get involved. No experience necessary, all we ask is that you are willing and keen to help the players develop and have some fun along the way. The club will support you and help you on your coaching journey.

Big Shots Ladies FC are pleased to announce that we are looking for players aged 16+ for a new Ladies Football team for the 24/25 season. We are working with our friends at St Breward AFC to play matches at Brake Parc.

We have kindly been donated these 2 lovely Christmas hampers from Morrisons which we will be holding a Christmas raffle to win.

Raffle tickets are now on sale priced at £1.00 per strip. If you would like to buy a strip please see Coach Andy at training, development centre, after school club or message the page and we can give the bank details to transfer the money over. All money raised will go back into the club.

The raffle will be drawn at our last development session of the year on Saturday 16th December.

Our Weetabix Wildcats Girls Football sessions start tomorrow at Lanivet Parish Community Centre on the all weather pitch from 10.30 am - 11.30 am.

These sessions are for girls aged 5-11 years. Weetabix Wildcats is non-competitive football for girls who want to give it a go for the very first time or want to play with other girls their own age. Most importantly, Weetabix Wildcats is all about having loads of fun and meeting new amazing friends.

The Wildcats sessions are a great way to get active, boost confidence, make friends and try football.

Today to show our support for the FA Play Safe weekend our two girls teams sported armbands and our coaches wore the FA Play Safe badges, along with making our play safe pledge.

This year’s Play Safe campaign focuses on the safeguarding role that everyone can play – coaches, players, parents/carers, spectators or volunteers – to keep children and young people safe, no matter what the football setting.

Next weekend is the FA Play Safe weekend 2023 – a countrywide campaign to focus attention of the vital importance of safeguarding in our national game. Led by The Football Association, the Play Safe campaign is endorsed by the NSPCC and will be supported this weekend across every level of English football, including the Premier League, EFL, Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship, and across the grassroots game.

This year’s Play Safe weekend focuses on the safeguarding role EVERYONE has to play – coach, player, parent/carer, spectator or volunteer – to keep children and young people safe, no matter what the football setting. EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE, EVERYTIME is encouraged to WATCH, LISTEN, TALK and ACT if they have any safeguarding concerns.

Here at Big Shots Youth we have made our play safe pledge and at our matches next weekend you will see our team captains wearing FA play safe armbands and our coaches will be wearing FA play safe badges to support the campaign.

A big well done to two of our U10’s girls Savannah & Millie who have been trialling for the Cornwall FA Girls ADC for the last two weeks and they found out yesterday that they have been invited to be part of the U10’s ADC squad to represent Cornwall. Well done girls, we are all very proud of you 👏🏻⚽️

TEACHING THE FUNDAMENTALS IS WHAT WE DO

Whether you are brand new to football or a more experienced player, we all need to learn and perfect the basics. Whether it be kicking the ball, passing, finding space, positioning they are all things that all players need to know. Which is why we teach the fundamentals needed to play football and as our players skills improve so does the difficulty of the sessions. We know all players learn at different rates, to some it comes naturally, to some it is more of a challenge but we aim to make our sessions fun and immersive. As well as teaching these skills we aim to support the work that those that play in a team do in training, so if there is something in particular that you would like to learn or perfect let us know and we can incorporate it into our sessions. We can’t promise to make you the next international superstar but what we can promise is to give you our all as coaches to help you to be the best player that you can be.
