ANDREW

Head Coach

I started my football journey as a young boy playing for my schools and county. I attended the FA School of Excellence, making it all of the way to England regional school boy level. I have recently undertaken and gained my UEFA C licence having been a qualified FA level 1 football coach since 2018 and in this time, I have used my qualification to set up and run a number of football teams and sessions in the local area. I have also continued to learn and develop in my coaching career by undertaking further courses and by being part of the FA Women's High Performance coaching centre, where I learn new skills and knowledge to take into my coaching sessions. I have completed the UEFA C coaching course to enable me bring a higher level of knowledge to my coaching sessions. I have experience of coaching in schools, football sessions and roadshows as well as coaching my own team for Bodmin Youth FC for who I am also the welfare officer. I run the Bodmin Wildcats Girls football centre and soon will be running the new FA Squads incentive at Bodmin Youth. I hold the 1st4sport The FA Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football certificate along with the In Safe Hands QA Level 3 award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) qualification. I am qualified in safeguarding and hold an enhanced DBS certificate. I am passionate about coaching football and making it enjoyable for the children that I am coaching.

I started playing football at the age of 5 and played youth football until I was 18, playing for various youth teams as well as my school team and for East Cornwall school boys. I then went on to play men's football, playing in the East Cornwall League. I have many years experience at coaching both adults and children's football. I have managed in the Duchy League and in the East Cornwall League winning 2 league titles and winning promotion twice as runners up. I hold a class 2 referee qualification, refereeing at England School boy level. I have completed my FA level 1 coaching course, FA playmaker course and Squads football training. I coach at my local Wildcats girls football centre and am coach for an under 8's football team. I have grown up with football all of my life as my Dad was a youth football coach and now want to pass my knowledge on to the next generation of football players. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and have been a first aider for 25 years in my respective workplaces.

FREYA

GOALKEEPING COACH

I STARTED PLAYING FOOTBALL AT THE AGE OF 9 AND PLAYED FOR BODMIN YOUTH UNTIL THE AGE OF 17, JOINING BODMIN WOMEN FC AGE 16. DURING MY TIME IN YOUTH FOOTBALL, I HAVE WON 3 COUNTY CUPS AND 1 DJM LEAGUE FOR BODMIN. AT THE AGE OF 11 I WAS SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN CORNWALL ACC WHICH LED ME TO REPRESENT CORNWALL UNTIL THE AGE OF SIXTEEN. DURING MY TIME AT CORNWALL ACC, I HAD DEDICATED GOALKEEPER TRAINING WHICH ADVANCED MY SKILLS AND DEVELOPMENT AS A GOALKEEPER. WHEN I WAS 15 I WAS SELECTED TO ATTEND A SOUTH WEST OF ENGLAND REGIONAL TRIAL, ALTHOUGH UNSUCCESSFUL IT GAVE ME A GOOD INSIGHT INTO THE STANDARD OF PLAYER REQUIRED AT THAT LEVEL. OVER MY 10 YEARS PLAYING, I HAVE ENJOYED SEEING WOMEN’S FOOTBALL DEVELOP AND PROGRESS AND WOULD LIKE TO TAKE MY PASSION FOR THE GAME IN HELPING THE NEXT GENERATION. I LOVE THE GOALKEEPING ROLE AS IT A VERY INDIVIDUAL POSITION THAT REQUIRES A DIFFERENT TYPE COACHING. I HOPE I CAN USE MY EXPERIENCE AS AN INDIVIDUAL, AND THE KNOWLEDGE I HAVE GAINED FROM MANY GOALKEEPER COACHES I HAVE TRAINED UNDER. I WANT TO PASS MY PASSION FOR GOALKEEPING ON TO YOUNG KEEPERS WHO WANT TO LEARN AND BECOME THE BEST THEY CAN BE.
